Juliette Armand Acne Therapy

WHAT IS ACNE?

Acne or excessively oily skin is the most common skin complaint we hear about in beauty salons.

It is the confidence killer amongst young people and as much as we attempt, as girls to cover it up with makeup, it does nothing to help our confidence levels. It only gets worse specially around that time of the month, literally halting us in our tracks, keeping us hidden away in our bedrooms, with only Tik Tok for company! Instead of dressing up and going on that hot new date with the guy you have been drooling over for months.  Why? Simply because we feel like he will be counting the pimples on our face and instead of being wowed by our amazing personality, you will have visions of him remembering that assignment he had to do on the moon!  ARRRGGGGHHH!

I may be in my fifties now, but having suffered from very oily skin as a teenager, believe me, I remember it like it was only yesterday!

Acne usually begins during puberty, in line with hormone changes, and may persist into later adulthood. Approximately 80-90% of young people are affected to some degree with blemishes and 20-30% of these people will seek medical support. A number of issues contribute to acne such as hormones, climate, certain medications and genetics can trigger sebum production. The majority of acne cases vanish spontaneously after puberty. Nevertheless, effective treatment is needed to prevent the formation of lasting scars.  Although acne can start or continue as an adult.

Whilst certain medications can clear up acne quite quickly, some medications can in fact cause other issues in the body and when stopping, the skin can flare up even further.

TREATMENTS FOR ACNE

Acne and the scarring that go along with this condition can be treated with an array of products. Some products can do more harm to the skin than good. There are products on the market that temporarily help the skin but then once you cease using them the skin erupts worse than ever!

Other evasive options to help acne and scarring include skin resurfacing. Chemical peel, dermabrasion, and laser resurfacing are the most commonly used techniques for improving the texture and appearance of the skin. Although these techniques use different methods, they have basically the same effect on the skin, they destroy and remove the upper layers of skin to allow for skin regrowth.

Chemical peels…just the thought of these two words is enough to send some people running for the hills!

How would you like to get the same results as other skin surfacing options, with a less evasive treatment…Juliette Armand personal professional skincare has the answer!
